WOLLONDILLY Arts Group is having its annual exhibition at Thirlmere this week.
Artworks will be on show at The Terrace, Oaks Street, Thirlmere from noon to 4pm each day until Friday and then from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
``We do an exhibition every year to show the public some of the work that local artists have put together,'' said Lavinia Zammit, of the arts group.
``The exhibition is an accumulation of works from different artists and it's not just painting or drawing there will be other things like woodwork or glassware because we have all kinds of artists in the group.''
Ms Zammit said there was no theme to the exhibition and it showcased the work of amateurs through to professionals.
``People can expect well-priced artwork, original work, beautifully made, that's great for themselves or as presents,'' she said. ``An original piece will go up in value so why pay the same amount for a print from a famous artist when you can get an original for the same price?''
Ms Zammit did a small painting of a young boy for the exhibition. ``I took a photo when I was about 15 of a little boy when I was at a swimming carnival in high school and I'm 41 now,'' she said.
``He's probably married with kids now but I always kept the photo and I thought: `I wonder how this would look on a canvas?'''
Ms Zammit said members enjoyed the arts group because of the friendships they made. ``I think they like the camaraderie. We hold creative get-togethers every second week where we draw, we paint, we laugh, we joke and we have excursions where we go and do a bit of drawing somewhere.''
