A Tahmoor man, 21, has been charged over a shooting at a birthday party in Tahmoor on Sunday morning.
Just before 1am, police were called to a house in Patterson Road, where a man, 21, also from Tahmoor, had gunshot wounds to his abdomen, legs and arms. He is in a serious condition in Campbelltown Hospital.
Police said they had been called to the property earlier that evening when an argument between the accused, Gregory Kariz, and the victim developed into a physical fight. Friends broke up the fight and the accused left.
Police spoke to party guests and Kariz as he walked home -but police say Kariz later returned to the property, parked his vehicle in front of the house and walked to the front door carrying a shotgun.
Witnesses said the man knocked on the door and when the victim tried to open it, Kariz discharged two rounds through the door.
Police seized four firearms and ammunition from a house in Short Street. Kariz held a firearms licence.
Kariz has been refused bail to face court on March 2 charged with discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, specially aggravated breaking and entering and committing an indictable offence, and firing a firearm in or near a public place.
