McDonald's Picton: Jobs on the way

20 Jan, 2010 04:00 AM
THE McDonald's Restaurant approved for Argyle Street Picton could be built by June.

A recruitment drive for staff is expected to begin in March.

The potential owner-operators of the new store Peter and Marcelle Bain said they were very excited about the business opportunity.

They have owned Mittagong McDonald's since it opened 15 years ago.

Mr Bain said they would need between 80 and 100 people to run the Picton store.

``We will probably start off with about 70 and then increase over time,'' he said.

``We've already increased our management team at Mittagong to train some managers for Picton, but we are looking forward to hiring some local crew members for the new store. The best part of the job is hiring people and training them.''

Mr and Mrs Bain said they would be very busy for the next few months working on drawings for the store.

``We really want it to have a Picton feel,'' Mr Bain said.
