Picton Ghost Hunts haunted by media

27 Jan, 2010 08:11 AM
MEDIA focussed on Picton last week in search of the truth about this photograph.

It was taken by Port Macquarie resident Renee English during a Picton Ghost Hunt on January 9.

The photo depicts St Mark's graveyard in Picton with two child-like figures by graves in the background.

It has been speculated that the two images are the ghosts of Blanche Moon and David Shaw who died 60 years apart. Blanche was crushed to death by a pile of sleepers in 1886 and David was the son of a minister who died from polio in 1946.

Picton Ghost Hunts manager Jenny Davies said the business had been inundated with calls since the photo was published in a Sydney newspaper last week.

``We had 30 messages on our machine in one day and lots of calls on the mobile,'' she said.

``We had no idea about the photo until it was published in the newspaper.

``I wasn't there but the lady who took the photo was in a small group that night and we're not permitted to take the tour inside St Mark's graveyard, so the tour group was standing back on the bank.''

They are the two bright white dots in the back of the pic - its hard to see in this pic but there are bigger versions online where you can make out two kids running through the back of the graves.

I found a larger version of the photo and it is clearly a fake.

How come the photograph in the paper is clearer than your photograhs on the web?To me they look fake, white dots. I could makeout the bush near the churh with faces in them and and behind in the background I think I see animals..Give us a break...And if these children are who you say they are why are their clothes so modern looking as children in the 1800's were more cover up.
