Renewed push to get rail line completed

23 Jun, 2009 09:54 AM
THE NSW Nationals want to see the Maldon-Dombarton rail line completed.

At the party's recent state conference, the party carried a motion the Wollondilly Nationals branch put forward to support the completion of the line.

Vice-chairman of the branch, Alan Hay, credited chairman Judy Hannan for getting the motion up.

``We're talking about state-wide benefits, not only to relieve road and rail congestion and an increase in jobs there would be an increase in import and export viability,'' he said.

``Maldon-Dombarton has been seen by the Nationals as not only benefiting our local shire residents but one of the most important infrastructure issues that we have at the moment.

``We're talking about a real project that will create jobs.''
