Magpies trounce Ingleburn

30 Jun, 2009 04:35 PM
PICTON shot to a 32-4 lead at half-time against Ingleburn on Sunday in their Group 6 Country Rugby League first-grade game.

The Magpies produced a dominant display in the second half adding another 40 points to run out big winners 72-14.

Thirlmere/Tahmoor also bounced back from two consecutive losses against Oakdale and Narellan.

The Roosters piled on the points in their 50-10 win against The Oaks.

Two quick tries taking The Oaks to a 10-0 lead in the eighth minute spurred the Roosters into action.

But it was the last points The Oaks would score in the game.

Leading 20-10 at the break, the Roosters put the game away with Darren Power scoring three tries.

In other first-grade games, Moss Vale beat Camden 36-28 and Narellan maintained their winning form with a huge 78-10 win over Mittagong.

Oakdale's game against East Campbelltown was washed out and is scheduled to be played on Wednesday night, at a venue to be determined, at the time of going to print.
