The 15-hour training course started last week and will continue on November 12, 19, 26 and December 3.

Those wishing to undertake the examination on the Laws of Cricket to receive a recognised cricket umpiring qualification can do so on December 10.

NSW Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association accredited trainers will teach the course which is aimed at recruiting prospective umpires for the Sydney Cricket Association Shires competition.

Umpires who officiate in association matches are remunerated for their service, an amount which covers any expenses incurred.

The course is

also ideal for coaches, team managers, administrators and players who wish to learn more about the laws of the game.
