James Tedesco was among champions last night when he was awarded the Dally M Fullback of the Year honour.
The Menangle local had a terrific 2016 season and managed to score the honour despite sitting on the sidelines due to injury twice in the year.
The 23-year-old is in fine company in the Dally M Team of the Year, with joint players of the year Cooper Cronk and Jason Taumalolo also making the side.
The trio were joined by Josh Mansour, Joseph Leilua, James Moloney, Matt Gillett, Jesse Bromwich and Cameron Smith.
Tedesco also represented his state in the State of Origin series this year.
The Camden Rams junior is already sixth on the all-time try-scorer list for the Wests Tigers and is the most prolific try-scoring fullback with 45 four-pointers.
Previous Dally M Fullback of the Year winners have included Tedesco’s crosstown rival Jarryd Hayne (of Minto), Greg Inglis, Billy Slater, former Tigers’ number one Brett Hodgson and Darren Lockyer.
Teammate Mitchell Moses did not make the team of the year, but he did finish equal 7th in the overall player of the year tally. He was tied with Josh Hodgson.
Tedesco is currently on his way to Las Vegas and could not be reached for comment.
