Camden South dancer to perform with teen pop superstar Justin Bieber

It is not every day a nine year old gets to dance on stage with international superstar Justin Bieber but for Charlie Pawlowski today is that day.

The Camden South local was selected from over 2000 entrants to be a back up dancer during Justin Bieber’s Sydney concert tonight.

She will perform a hip hop routine with five other winners as Bieber smashes out his global hit Children during his Purpose Tour.

Charlie and her mother Ali Wilson were “blown away” when they were told Charlie had been selected.

“When I opened the email I was in shock, I was shaking, I couldn’t believe what I was reading,” Ms Wilson said.

Charlie, who dances at LA Talent in Silverwater, entered the competition via Instagram.

The Camden South Public School student learnt and filmed the choreography to accompany the song, uploaded her video last Tuesday and was told on Sunday.

Charlie will rehearse from 4pm at ANZ Stadium and she will join 95,000 adorning Bielbers eager to hear the singer’s top hits.

Ms Wilson said Charlie was not nervous to perform in front of a large audience and the dancers were encouraged to “bring their own flavour” to the performance.

“Charlie is so excited and humble,” Ms Wilson said. “This is a dream come true for her.

“She will probably do a nervous bathroom run but once she is out there her face will light up.”

“I will probably tear up watching her on stage.”

Charlie has danced from three years old and has danced solos for four years.

“Charlie enjoys being a part of the hip hop group and dancing by herself,” Ms Wilson said.

Charlie has been dancing at LA Talent for the past year and Ms Wilson was grateful to the dance teachers and studio owner who had helped Charlie develop as a dancer.

“The teachers give life to the kids and they make Charlie feel good about her dancing,” Ms Wilson said.

She wanted to thank Charlie’s hip hop teacher and mentor Armani Skaf.

“Armani has put a lot of time into helping Charlie with her video submission and has given her so much guidance in her dancing.”
