Australian actress Val Jellay dead, aged 89
Beloved Australian actress, dancer and author Val Jellay has passed away, aged 89 from pneumonia.
Her son, comedian Marty Fields posted publicly to his Facebook wall this afternoon announcing her passing.
Val was most well-known for her television work, appearing in numerous Australian soap operas in a career spanning five decades.
Val was married to Australian actor, Maurie Fields from 1960 until his death in 1995. The husband and wife team were perhaps most well-known for their roles in the television series The Flying Doctors from 1986 to 1992. Val also made regular appearances on Good Morning Australia with Bert Newton.
