While households often venture back to indoor entertaining during the cooler months, outdoor entertaining during winter is still possible.
Chris Florac, outdoor heating specialist and product manger at art Décofire, shares his top tips for creating a warm outdoor entertaining space.
- REAL FIRE
There’s nothing that warms your hands like a real fire. It can also act as the centrepiece for any outdoor space and provides a focal point for gathering of family and friends. A modern fire pit is a great outdoor heating solution, providing warmth and ambience.
- SIZE
When it comes to choosing a fire pit, consider the amount of space you have available. If you have a generous backyard, opt for larger fire pit and fire bowl. If you have a small backyard, opt for a vertical or cylindrical design style that will heat your area without taking up floor space.
- RUG UP
Adding blankets and cushions to seating can help warm up the family and guests, while adding style. Consider rich colours and warm tones.
- LIGHT UP
Set the mood for your winter soirée with table lights, hanging lamps and outdoor candles. Hanging paper lanterns can also help to create a magical outdoor setting.
Note: NSW Fair Trading have warned consumers to be careful when using ethanol alcohol-fuelled burners due to safety concerns.
