A sheep with a heavy load has attempted an ambitious climb and become stuck on a ledge at Heybridge, on Tasmania northern coast.
Resident Ian Whitehouse said he spotted the sheep on a ledge about 40 feet high a week ago, and it was still there when he checked on Tuesday morning.
He said he believed the sheep could be the same one he’s seen wandering in nearby bushland over the past two years.
“It’s fleece must be over a metre wide and the ledge is about the size of a car,” Mr Whitehouse said.
“I reckon he’s too heavy to climb down.”
Mr Whitehouse said he had previously tried to approach the sheep and find its owner.
“As far as I know, no-one else has seen it but I’ve tried to approach it before and it shot off as fast as anything,” Mr Whitehouse said.
Mr Whitehouse said he had contacted the RSPCA and the Central Coast Council about the matter.
