Megan Gale has revealed her newborn daughter's name, over a week after giving birth.
The model announced the bub, her second with Richmond footballer Shaun Hampson, is named Rosie May Dee Hampson.
Sharing a picture of Rosie sleeping on her Instagram account, Gale said the couple "just wanted to be really sure that it was the [name] for her".
"This was a name I had really liked initially when I was pregnant, Shaun wasn't a fan so I'd crossed it off the list and we focused only on one other name that we both liked," she wrote.
Gale said it was not until this week that they "stared long and hard at her while she was snoozing and it just all came together", revealing the name honours many influential women in her and Hampson's lives: Rosie is Gale's grandmother's name, May is Gale's mother's name, and Dee is Hampson's mother's name.
Rosie May Dee Hampson We were lucky we had so many great names for this little girl. We just wanted to be really sure that it was the one for her. This was a name I had really liked initially when I was pregnant , Shaun wasn't a fan so I'd crossed it off the list and we focused only on one other name that we both liked. Then when she was born Shaun said she really suited Rosie but we still weren't 100% and also still keen on some of the other names too. Talk about indecisiveness! Anyway, yesterday we stared long and hard at her while she was snoozing and it just all came together. No other name seemed to suit her more than Rosie. And the name has a beautiful significance too, much like River's. Rosie is a nod to my Nana (Dad's Mum, Rosella), May is my Mum's name, Dee is Shaun's Mum's name and obviously Hampson, the family name from Tom, Shaun's Dad.
Gale gave birth on September 27, announcing the new arrival with an Instagram post on Wednesday.
"Hard to believe a week has passed since we welcomed our precious girl into the world and our lives," Gale captioned an image of her lying in her hospital bed.
"She is yet to be officially named but we're getting close," she added.
Rosie is a younger sister for two-year-old River.
