It was a tough weekend at the Bathurst 1000 for Camden’s Cameron Crick and Oran Park’s Tim Brook.

The Toyota 86 racers were involved in a crash at the beginning of race two which ended their weekend early.

Crick was hit from behind by another driver which sent him across the track where he collided heavily with Brook’s car.

Brook, who had qualified in sixth place, said on Facebook it was “gutting.”

“It was a tough way to end the weekend, but that’s always the risk in motor racing,” he said.

“We were looking good, so it’s a shame because I think we could have had another couple of good results.

“Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for us this weekend, but we’ll regroup and look forward to the next one.”

Heading into the weekend, Brook sat third in the championship.
