NSW Police charge 46-year-old woman after glassing incident on Riverside Drive

A woman has been charged over a glassing incident in Airds on Friday night.

At about 8.20pm, 31-year-old woman and a 46-year-old woman - who were not known to each other - were involved in a verbal exchange at a licensed premises on Riverside Drive.

Soon after, the older woman was in the beer garden of the premises when she was approached by the younger woman.

The 46-year-old then allegedly struck the 31-year-old in the face with a schooner glass, causing a significant wound.

Police were called and attended, establishing a crime scene.

The 46-year-old woman was arrested.

The victim had left the premises before police arrived. 

Police attended her address and she was taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment to the facial wound, which will require surgery.

The 46-year-old woman was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with reckless wounding.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on November 27, 2017.
