Hoards of locals welcomed back the George IV Inn over the weekend.
After more than 500 days, the Picton pub was re-opened on Wednesday, November 1.
Owners Ross Robinson and Adam Cryer along with managers Peta and Brett Cohen were pleased to see old and new faces at the pub.

“There was a good atmosphere on Thursday that carried on from Wednesday’s opening.
“Friday night was big and it was great to see new faces and a younger crowd who turned 18 during the time the pub was closed. Saturday was also very strong with many locals having a beer.
“Our TAB room was full on Saturday for Derby Day. The new room has been embraced by the community and it will be nice for people to enjoy the Spring Carnival racing in there.
“Live music was back which was a big part of Saturday night and Sunday was steady all day.”
Mr Robinson said the most popular beer was Carlton Dry, Great Northern and a new beer at the George, Midway Goose.
Mr Cryer said the pub almost ran out of beer on Friday because of the overwhelming crowd.
“Beer was tight because of the timing of deliveries,” he said. “Everyone was really understanding.”
The glass washers could not keep up with the demand so plastic glasses were used instead.
Mr Robinson said the food truck was also very popular and he thanked patrons for their patience.
“The feedback was positive,” he said. "The food truck has a limited capacity and menu and we will be changing the menu regularly.”
Old favourites will be welcomed back to perform at the pub. On Saturday, November 18 Mad Rhino will perform and Jemma Beech will play an acoustic gig at the pub on Sunday, November 19.
The owners said they enjoyed meeting both old and new faces over the weekend and thanked them for their support.
“The reopening of the George was always supposed to give something back to the community,” Mr Cryer said.
“We also hope the George will become a destination venue for Sydneysiders.”
The owners hope to lodge the development application for stage two, which includes plans for a kitchen and dining, this week.
They hope stage two will be completed in February 2018.
