The ALDI Narellan car park was filled with eager shoppers well before 7am today.
People were keen to grab some freebies and snap up a bargain at the store’s grand opening event.
ALDI fans lined the new-look supermarket’s ramp armed with trolleys and their wallets.
Store manager Sean Martin said he was delighted with the opening event.
“It’s absolutely fantastic – people are loving it, they have been waiting for it to open for quite a while,” he said.
“I think the store is in the right area because people have been asking for one for quite a while.
“I think it’s all about that community atmosphere and giving them the special offers that ALDI can offer – we’re the home of the lowest prices.”
Narellan resident Ursula Luvikov said she was happy an ALDI store had opened up so close to home.
“I came out to see the specials,” she said.
“ALDI has good prices, good food and the new store is beautiful.”
Dedicated ALDI shopper Maria Watson said she was excited for the opening event.
“I wanted to check out the bargains and have a browse around,” she said.
“My daughter works at ALDI down in Mittagong so she told me the big news about the opening.”
The new store is at 304-306 Camden Valley Way, Narellan.
Opening hours are 8.30am to 8pm from Monday to Sunday, with extended trading hours until 9pm on Thursdays.
