Wollondilly Anglican College has once again shined in the HSC, with 14 students earning at least one result of above 90.

The school was also home to three particularly impressive students: Jamieson Bell, Murray Jobbins and Caitlin Konzen.

Jamieson and Murray both earned a band six or equivalent – the highest possible HSC result category – for at least 10 units of study, while Caitlin came fourth in the state in General Mathematics.

Jamieson was also named the school dux with an ATAR of 99.35.

Six of the school students earned ATARs in the 90s: Jamieson, Murray (98.45), Jason Davies (97.30), Caitlin (95.95), David Clark (94.10) and Max Noakes (90.05).

Headmaster Stuart Quarmby said he was incredibly proud of the efforts of his students.

“We are a comprehensive school, we have students of all range of abilities,” he said.

“They are up against many elite schools from across the state.

“We have deliberately created a learning culture at this college – it’s in our students’ and staff’s DNA.”

Mr Quarmby said the college’s students and staff went above and beyond what was required to achieve their best results possible.

“We have teachers who regularly stay back after school hours to help the students,” he said.

“We also had study camps in the school holidays – these things are all voluntary.”

Mr Quarmby said the three students to make the all-rounder achievers and top achievers lists – Murray, Jamieson and Caitlin – were all involved in school programs outside the classroom.

“Those three students won the state debating competition last year,” he said.

“Jamieson and Murray attended a science forum in Canberra and Murray went to one in London as well.

“We love our students to make the most of the opportunities that are presented to them.”
