Carols in the Garden is back on December 16 with a few big changes to spread some extra Christmas cheer.
For the first time ever the traditional festive event will feature a Christmas Gift Market.
Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan venue manager Rebecca Anderson said organisers were excited about the child friendly addition.
“The market will be held from 3pm with kids entertainment including the Trolls Christmas Show, craft and education activities, face painting, inflatable fun – and of course kids can also catch up with Santa for a photo or a chat,” she said.
“Also for the first time we will have Auslan interpreters at the event to translate the event for our deaf community.”
Carols in the Garden has been running for almost 20 years with crowds growing each year.
Ms Anderson said with the number of other Christmas events in the area now, organisers are determined to keep this a traditional carols event.
“There will be lots of sing-a-longs, local talent and choirs – all accompanied by the amazing C4 Big Band,” she said.
“Lauren Azar is a great local singer who is back again this year and joining her on stage will be Macarthur’s stage musical star, Em Cascarino.”
Santa will also make an appearance on stage.
Ms Anderson said the event was not to be missed.
“Apart from the fact that it is set in the most stunning location in Macarthur, it is a great night of entertainment and now with the markets, it will be a great afternoon of entertainment and community gathering,” she said.
