'Just carnage': Two charged after Sydney beach party
Two women have been charged with assaulting police after a huge beach party was broken up by officers in Sydney's south.
About 3000 people were at the party at Little Bay Beach, south of Maroubra, and more were arriving when police were called just before 3pm. Read more

The body of missing Sydney man Patrick Hahn has been found on the lower north shore.
The 25-year-old disappeared in the early hours of Friday morning after a night out, and police his family had appealed for the public to help find him. Read more
Failure-to-vote fines earn NSW government millions of dollars
Theoden Lee did not realise he may have broken the law until a letter arrived in the mail.
The letter – an Apparent Failure to Vote notice – informed Mr Lee he could pay a fine of $55 for not voting in the September 2017 election for the new Inner West Council, provide an excuse or challenge the fine in court. Read more

Two men are being investigated by the RSPCA after they ate a live fish in a Sydney pet shop and posted the video online.

A woman has died and a man is in hospital after a house was destroyed by fire on the NSW South Coast.
A man woke to find smoke filling his bedroom at a Tura Beach home about 12.30am on Christmas Day and called emergency services. Read more
