Nintendo has announced a new Mario Kart title will be coming to mobile.
The announcement was made on Thursday during the Strategy Briefing Meeting portion of its quarterly investors meeting
Titled Mario Kart Tour, it is due to release in the ‘fiscal year ending in March 2019’ which means somewhere between April 2018 and March 2019.
No further details were shared other than a logo and the release window.
The Mario Kart series has seen well over 100 million in sales since the SNES original in 1992. The latest release, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Nintendo Switch has sold 7.3 million copies since its May 2017 release.
At the same meeting Nintendo also confirmed the long-reported rumour that it’s working with Illumination Entertainment (the company that made Minions) on a Mario feature film.
Here’s hoping balloon battle returns.
