The region’s next softball stars are one step closer to achieving glory thanks to a funding boost.

Elderton Homes recently came on board as a sponsor of the South West Sydney Academy of Sport’s 25-person softball squad, with funds being used to purchase new tournament jerseys and provide essential training equipment for the 2018 campaign.

Academy executive director Gerry Knights said he was pleased Elderton Homes had partnered with the academy to providevaluable financial assistance.

“The softball team is one of our strongest representative groups,” he said. “Four of our players have worn green and gold jerseys for Australia.”

Elderton’s sales and marketing general manager John Castellano said he “delighted to support the academy’s important endeavours in developing future champions”.

“It’s the academy’s 20th anniversary as one of the premier sports academies in NSW this year, an achievement the Macarthur region should be very proud of.”
