Now this is one cool and eye-popping event for the kids.
Parents often encourage their kids to get off the couch, switch the television off and do some physical exercise.
Well, Campbelltown Council has come up with a way to combine the best of both worlds.
The council-owned Macquarie Fields Leisure Centre will transform into an outdoor cinema on Saturday, February 17.
A 12 metre squared screen will show the hit children’s movie, Moana, which stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
For the same price as general admission, movie lovers can watch the film from the comfort of an outdoor chair or in the pool.
Mayor George Brticevic encouraged Campbelltonians to head out to the Floovies event.
“Floovies is part of council’s commitment to ensuring our residents have access to new, exciting and affordable activities, and to making the most of our great facilities like Macquarie Fields Leisure Centre,” he said.
“The event will be a great opportunity to get together with friends or family, and enjoy what’s left of the warm summer weather at a movie night with a difference.”
The event will begin at 6pm with the movie to start at 6.30pm.
A limited number of inflatable pool toys will be available for $3 hire.
General admissions prices are $6 for adults and $4 for children – with $17 family passes also available.
