NSW Police seize loaded pistol and cannabis from Macquarie Fields home

A man has been arrested during a police raid at a Macquarie Fields home on Thursday.

A loaded pistol and cannabis plants were also seized during the raid at a property on Helica Road.

Officers had been investigating the illegal manufacture of cannabis and they executed a search warrant at the property at about 10.30am on Thursday.

During the raid, officers located 14 cannabis plants growing in two bedrooms..

Hydroponic equipment and almost half a kilogram of loose cannabis were also seized.

While searching the home, officers also found a loaded .22 pistol and additional rounds of ammunition.

A 34-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Campbelltown Police Station.

He was charged with drug possession and knowingly taking part in the cultivation of cannabis.

The man was granted bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on March 5.

Inquiries into the located firearm are continuing.
