The C4 choir is out to prove that you don’t need to visit an inner-city concert hall to see a high-quality orchestra performance.
Forty local singers from the choir will perform alongside a 50-piece orchestra to celebrate Cambelltown Catholic Club’s 50th anniversary on Sunday, March 25.
The performance will feature hit songs and melodies from the stage and screen including Beauty and the Beast, Wicked, Star Wars, Oklahoma, Back To The Future, The Little Mermaid, My Fair Lady and more.
C4 creative director Matt Glynn said the concert is something the region had never seen before.
“This is the first time an orchestra and choir of this size have performed at The Cube,” he said.
“I have been working on this for the last couple of years but this is something I have wanted to do my whole life.”
Mr Glynn said he was excited to see the groups hard work come to life.
“I have spent a lot of time writing compositions for the show,” he said.
“The music will feature lots of work that people are familiar with.
“It will be a blend of a lot of different sounds with rich experienced singers.”
Most of the singers and musicians in the show live in Macarthur.
“This is a huge performance – there will be a lot of great music but it will also be a chance to see the calibre of performers being produced out here,” Mr Glynn said.
“The only other place you will see performances like this is in concert halls in Sydney.”
Mr Glynn said he hoped locals supported the performance.
“We would love to see as many people as possible at the event,” he said.
“I hope everyone gets behind it.”
The concert will be held from 2pm on March 25 at The Cube, 20-22 Camden Road, Campbelltown.
Tickets are $20 for members, $25 for visitors and $10 for children.
