The Great Barrier Reef looks set to benefit from Prince Charles' latest Australian visit with business leaders, politicians and conservationists coming together to create change.
The Prince of Wales took part in a roundtable discussion on how to better protect the reef on Queensland's Lady Elliot Island on Friday.
Convened by the Great Barrier Reef Foundation and The Prince's Trust Australia, the event also provided the backdrop for the announcement of millions of dollars in new funding to establish a new protection project for five islands.
Terri Irwin, who attended the meeting with her children Bindi and Robert, said Prince Charles' conservation efforts and his visit to Queensland had inspired Friday's gathering.
"If it weren't for his royal highness being the catalyst for this meeting, I don't know if it would've happened the way it has," she said.
A chuffed Bindi said the future king was an inspiration.
"He is amazing. He is a true wildlife warrior," she said, with a nod to her late father, Steve Irwin.
Prince Charles travels to Vanuatu on Saturday before he returns on Sunday to Queensland, where he will spend the day in Cairns.
