Bees will be a special feature at the Highfield Historic Site in Stanley, Tasmania, when it hosts the Circular Head Garden Spectacular on October 21.
Highlights will include a mini bee expo that will cover all aspects of keeping bees, including honey production and the bees’ role in pollinating food crops and ornamental gardens.
There will also be a competition where youngsters can dress up as bees or butterflies.
Special guests will include TV personality Tino Carnevale from ABC’s Gardening Australia.
There will also be a talk by Gregory Milner from Melbourne’s Marjorie Milner College – now in its 71st year – which will include a floristry demonstration. Milner will double as judge for this year’s major competitions.
Visitors will enjoy a full day of flowers, plants and admiring pretty foliage. And, of course, there will be lots of food and wine.
The event will run from 9am-5pm.
