The Sunland Group will hold an information session about the proposed development of 143 terrace homes in Mount Annan on Wednesday, October 11 .
The meeting will be held at Narellan Library between 3pm and 7pm.
It is a chance for the community to ask questions and view the development plans for 1-5 Main Street, Mount Annan.
The controversial land in Mount Annan adjacent to Mount Annan Market Place was previously owned by Dyldam Group Projects Pty Ltd.
Dyldam Group Projects Pty Ltd submitted an application in 2014 to build nine, four-storey precincts that would house 256 units, a 550 space car park and off-street parking.
Residents and the council strongly opposed the development due to traffic, noise and parking concerns.
The fight ended up in the Land and Environment Court where the case was ruled in council’s favour.
Mount Annan resident Martina Ganderton was one of the campaigners against the Dyldam development.
She told the Advertiser last month that she was still concerned about traffic and infrastructure.
“I hope the community is just as engaged as they were last time,” she said.
The land’s new owners, Sunland Group, purchased the 5.5 hectare greenfield site in November 2016.
The developer’s proposal, to be called Montaine Residences, will be made up of 143 three-bedroom terrace homes within walking distance of a large central park.
Sunland managing director Sahba Abedian said the proposal represented a sensitive and respectful planning approach, where leading architecture is combined with landscape design.
“This site is superbly located in an environment which offers access to high levels of service and amenities in Mount Annan, with its proximity to two major shopping centres, local schools and public transport,” he said.
“A central philosophy of the proposed design is to deliver large family terrace homes within a vibrant and connected community environment, of a size and scale that are respectful to their surroundings.”
Sunland Group will host community information sessions in October, which will include a presentation to neighbouring residents and local retailers.
