Narellan Road motorists may have noticed another set of traffic lights had been switched on recently.
The lights at the intersection of Kenny Hill Drive, “went live” on Friday, October 27, a Roads and Maritime Services spokesman said.
There are only a few properties that can be accessed off Kenny Hill Road.
However, a Roads and Maritime Services spokeswoman told the Advertiser in 2015 lights at the intersection were considered the “most appropriate measure”.
“Extensive planning and consideration was given to the design for the Narellan Road intersection with Kenny Hill Road,” she said.
“There a number of properties to the north of Narellan Road including an operating dairy which has significant truck movements.
“There are several properties to the south which also need access including Sydney Catchment Authority.
“Traffic lights were considered the most appropriate measure as the intersection would allow safe access for large vehicles and maintain traffic flow efficiency on Narellan Road.
“The proposed heavy vehicle inspection bay to the south east of the proposed signals will also use this intersection to allow safe movement of vehicles.”
