Plans for Spring Farm’s new playground unveiled

A sensory garden, in-ground trampolines, a dry creek bed and a spinning dish will soon be installed at a new park in Spring Farm.

Plans for the $900,000 playground at Bandara Circuit, Spring Farm are now complete and residents are invited to have their say on the design.

Camden mayor Lara Symkowiak said the council ran a community consultation program in January about the type of equipment people wanted to see at the site.

“It is important that the park meets the needs of residents and is a welcoming and comfortable environment for everyone to enjoy,” she said.

“All of the information gathered during the consultation has contributed to the design of the play space and additional play and fitness components have been incorporated into the master plan for the site for development in the future.”

The park design incorporates surrounding woodland and greenspace.

It includes an adventure playground for older children which features a slide and a Flecto spinner along with a separate play area for younger children which includes swings and a cajon drum.

The new playground will also include a sensory garden, sculptures an interpretive trail, shade structures and timber seating.

Construction of the project is expected to begin early next year and will take six months to complete.
