Camden Council to splash out on new water parks

Camden Council has released the initial concept plans for a new water play park at Curry Reserve, Elderslie.

Resident feedback gathered during community last year has been used to guide the preliminary plans.

Camden mayor Lara Symkowiak said it was clear there was strong support for an inclusive water play space, suitable to people of all abilities.

“It is important that the park is functional, attractive and enjoyable to a diversity of people for it to be a real asset to the community,” she said.

“Engaging with residents at each step of the project is important to ensuring that everyone is involved as the plans progress.”

The water park is just one of the new parks to be developed in 2018, including the brand new youth and recreational play spaces at Harrington Park and Currans Hill.

The project includes toilets, new paths, parking, shelter upgrades and water play facilities.

The suggested locations of these are outlined in the concept design plans.

Staff will be at the site to provide information about the concept for the park at Curry Reserve, Elderslie from 10am-2pm on Sunday, January 21.

The designs are available on Council’s website,
