Macarthur commuters are advised that trains have been cancelled between Campbelltown and Picton on Friday afternoon.

The cancellation was made due to an issue with a freight train at Menangle Park.

7 News Sydney had reported that a freight train derailed on the Southern Highlands line on Friday.

However, a Transport Management Centre spokesperson said the cancellation was caused by a freight train requiring mechanical repairs.
