Police investigate Picton fire as suspicious

Police are appealing for information as they investigate a suspicious fire in Picton.

Just before 3.30am on Saturday, emergency services were called to a business on Argyle Street, Picton, following reports of a fire.

Nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution and Fire & Rescue NSW officers extinguished the blaze.

No one was injured as a result but the business sustained significant internal damage.

Camden Local Area Command officers established a crime scene.

Investigators are treating the blaze as suspicious and are appealing to identify two men, who witnesses reported seeing running from the business toward Barkers Lodge Road after the fire started.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
