Rail enthusiasts enjoy Thirlmere Festival of Steam | GALLERY

Thousands of train enthusiasts and families headed to Thirlmere to bask in all things train.

The Thirlmere Festival of Steam was this year held on two days.

On Saturday, March 3 there was a country fair and activities in the NSW Rail Museum.

There were steam train rides, amusement rides, wood chopping, working dog trails, sheep sheering, car show and entertainment.

On Sunday, March 4, children enjoyed seeing the snake show, animal display, petting zoo and pony rides.

Parents had fun shopping at more than 100 market stalls, looking at a vintage car display, hearing live performances and lined the street to see the gala street parade.

And of course locals and visitors could see the NSW Rail Museum and go on steam train rides.
