Easter is just around the corner and that means the folks at Darrell Lea are hard at work to make your life sweeter.
Like Oompa Loompas in a chocolate factory, Darrell Lea employees at Ingleburn have been burning the midnight oil to ensure everyone can get their Easter goods in time.
The confectionery company’s marketing manager Tara Heaslip said the Ingleburn store was “definitely busier” at this time of year.
“We started thinking about this Easter last year and now we’re already thinking about Easter 2019,” she said.
“Each year we try and bring our a special new product for Easter, to come up with cool new ideas to excite the customers.
“This year we’ve got a filled half-egg with licorice bullets, which will be sold at our store here and at Coles and Big W.”
Ms Heaslip said production on Easter goods started in December so the company could keep up with demand.
To date, they have already made one million eggs for Easter 2018.
She said the factory would occasionally be running 24 hours a day to ensure everything ran to schedule.
Ms Heaslip said all the new licorice bullet eggs had been manufactured, and chocolate-lovers had to get in quick to secure their products.
“Where at Woolies and Coles and your supermarkets you tend to be able to buy your eggs at the last minute, at our store you really have to get in early,” she said.
“Sometimes we can sell out of Easter goods two weeks early.
“The Easter eggs really go out the door fast.”
Ms Heaslip said, depending on the amount of Easter stock left, the factory store would utilise extended hours in the lead-up to Easter and would open six days a week.
