Unique fair for all time travellers

Travellers across time will converge on Menangle Park at the Time Travellers World Fair in June.

The inaugural event will bring together steampunk, medieval and past, present and future time travelling cosplayers on Sunday, June 24.

Everyone is encouraged to come along from 10am to 4pm at The Campbelltown Steam and Machinery Museum.

There will be time travel-themed market stalls selling everything from new gadgets, clothing, equipment and novelty items as well as more traditional market stalls.

The Oaks residents Sharon Robertson and Agnes Brown love dressing up and wanted to organise a dress-up fair.

“We love going to the Steampunk Victoriana Fair in Goulburn and wanted to go to one closer to Sydney,” Mrs Robertson said. “We didn’t want to copy the Steampunk theme so we have gone with a time travel theme.

“People can dress up in any costume from Dr Who, Back to the Future or steampunk.

“I love to dress up because it is fun and something to do. There is a culture of people who love time travel so the fair is a way to bring them together. The museum also has great spots for photos.”

The fair will also raise money for the museum to help the volunteers continue to preserve historic machinery.

There will also be sword play displays, a Delorean display, dance troops will perform and there will be a competition for best-dressed.

The fair will include food stalls and fundraising groups are welcome to have a stall.

Mrs Robertson is also looking for sponsors for the unique fair. Interested stall holders can contact the Wollondilly Markets Facebook page.

Details: Entry is $10, free entry for children under 10. Tickets are available via the Time Travellers World Fair Facebook page.
