Macarthur locals have helped raise more than $570,000 for drought-affected families through buying a sausage sanga at Bunnings.
Bunnings donated the all the money raised from last Friday’s sausage sizzles in NSW and ACT to Rural Aid’s Buy a Bale scheme.
Bunnings stores in all other states and territories ran sausage sizzles today.
Bunnings managing director, Michael Schneider, thanked everyone who stopped by their local Bunnings in NSW and the ACT and supported this cause.
“The generosity of local communities was extraordinary,” he said.
“Most of our stores had lines of people queuing up for a sausage throughout the day, with many having to make multiple runs to the local butcher to keep up with demand.
“I’d particularly like to thank the team members who got behind the BBQ including those who came in on their day off, unasked, because this was so important to them.”
Customers in NSW and the ACT are still able to donate at their local Bunnings store or online at buyabale.com.au.
Rural Aid’s Buy a Bale Campaign provides livestock feed and household essentials to drought-affected families and communities in every impacted state.
