A man has been charged with helping an alleged killer flee the Gold Coast after he dumped his teenage victim's body in a barrel in the back of a ute.
Queensland police on Monday arrested the 32-year-old Mountain Creek man and charged him with being an accessory after the fact of the murder of Brisbane teenager Larissa Beilby.
Larissa, 16, was reported missing by her father on June 27, a day before police discovered her body in a barrel placed on the tray of an abandoned ute at Stapylton.
Her boyfriend, 34-year-old Zlatko Sikorsky, has been charged with her murder, as well as a string of related charges including interfering with her corpse.
Sikorsky has already indicated he will fight the murder charge on a misadventure defence, with his lawyer suggesting Larissa may have died by accident.
Police will allege the man arrested on Monday helped organise two boltholes on the Sunshine Coast for Sikorsky.
It's alleged Sikorsky spent the first night hiding in a room at a Mooloolaba hotel.
He sought refuge the next day at an Alexandra Headlands unit, which was the site of a 28-hour siege prior to his arrest.
The Mountain Creek man will appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on August 29 over allegations he arranged the hideouts.
He has also been charged with unrelated property and drugs offences.
Joseph Geiger, who was renting the Alexandra Headlands unit, has also been charged with being an accessory to the murder for allegedly knowingly providing Sikorsky with a bolthole.
Palmwoods woman Tracy Ann Thomson, 40, is facing a similar charge after also allegedly helping Sikorsky by driving him to the Sunshine Coast.
