Yanderra-product Jemma Beech is on top of the world.
She filmed her first music video and will release her debut album in two weeks.
And she can’t wait to perform to locals at the launch party of her album at George IV Inn in October.
Ms Beech has been writing and recording her album, That’s Just Me, since 2015.
“I attended the Singer Songwriters Retreat at the DAG Sheep Station near Tamworth a few years ago,” she said.
“I wrote songs there and it was a mindblowing experience where I could be creative in fresh air at a great country location.
“That is where I found my passion for songwriting.
“I also went to Melbourne for a weekend to write songs with my good friends Jake Sinclair and Luke Austin.
“Four songs on the album were co-written with them.
“Writing the songs with lots of songwriters allowed me to be creative and it helped me grow as a person.”
Ms Beech then recorded with producer Rusty Crook, who is a guitarist with many Australian country music artists including the Sunny Cowgirls.
“We went to Tamworth in May 2017 to record,” she said.
“We also travelled to Nashville, the home of country music, in August 2017, to get more creative and find inspiration.”
Last week the singer filmed her first music clip for the debut album single ‘I’m A Girl’ with director Jay Seeney and Blacklist Production House.
“It was an awesome day filming in Picton and at K-Ranch arena,” Ms Beech said.
“It was also a good opportunity to catch up with my girlfriends.
“I wanted to film in a location that captured where I grew up because the album is a representation of where I have come from.”
Ms Beech, who drives trucks in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, flies back to home every couple of months.
“I come back home to visit my family and play gigs,” she said.
“I wanted to try something new so I moved to a place where I would be inspired by outback Australian life.
“It has also helped me write songs.”
Ms Beech encouraged locals to come to the Picton George IV Inn to listen to her new songs and hear her sing some of her favourite covers.
The launch party starts at 1pm.
You can download her album on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play and YouTube on Friday September 7.
