Residents are invited to have their say on plans for Campbelltown Hospital’s $632 million redevelopment.
The plans are on public exhibition at the Department of Planning’s website until September 26.
Alison Derrett, general manager of Campbelltown and Camden hospitals, said lodging the development application was a key step towards delivering more local health services for children and adults closer to home.
“We are excited to see our hospital’s redevelopment progressing with so many wonderful inclusions to enhance and expand the region’s health care,” she said.
“The new state-of-the-art clinical services building will be a local landmark of up to 12 levels with a helipad on the roof of the building.
“It will include significantly expanded mental health facilities and a new paediatric unit with 60 beds which is almost triple the number in our existing ward.
“The new emergency department will have more treatment spaces and more ambulance bays.”
Other works will include a new hospital entry, improved pedestrian links to existing hospital buildings new internal link roads and landscaping.
