A new generation of green-thumbs is sprouting in backyards, vege patches and flower displays throughout Macarthur.
The Advertiser was inundated with dozens of mega-cute photos showing our youngest residents enjoying ‘green’ time in the great outdoors during a recent promotion for the Camden Garden Festival’s Gumnut Baby competition.
The judges had great difficulty weeding out a winner, but eventually chose Amelia May O’Brien from Kirkham Rise (see picture at left) in a tight contest from runners up Brielle Anderson and Alessandra Martinez.
Little Amelia wins the grand prize which is a $695 photoshoot with Emily O'Brien Photography which includes a 60 to 90 minute photo session, 50 Digital Images edited in both colour and black and white, 10 complimentary 5x7’’ matte art prints and more.
The festival will be held in conjunction with Camden Community Garden, Camden Produce Markets, the Australian Botanic Gardens, Mount Annan, Glenmore House, Camden Park House and Upstairs at Fred’s.
It will feature garden tours, talks from garden professionals and researchers and workshops including how to make a macrame plant hanger and a vegetable garden masterclass.
