Close to 1000 spectators were treated to a top class professional rugby union contest at Camden Rugby Park on Sunday.
Former Wallabies Quade Cooper and Karmichael Hunt headlined the National Rugby Championship between the NSW Country Eagles and Brisbane City.
The Eagles held a late lead before a Sam Wallis try and a Cooper conversion in the 73rd minute sealed a 28-27 win for Brisbane.
Camden Rugby Club president Bryan Herd said Cooper and Hunt were among the standout performers.
“It was a high quality and close game,” he said.
“All of the players were great and mingled with the crowd after the match.”
The NRC match was held as part of a family fun day.
A series of junior games were played plus a women’s trial match between NSW Country and Sydney.
There was also a jumping castle and face-painting to keep the kids entertained.
