Do you like free food?

Well the Camden Jacaranda Festival is giving locals the chance to eat for free in Camden for a year.

Argyle Business Collective founder and festival organiser Andrew Valciukas said they wanted to give one lucky winner the Golden Ticket to Camden’s eateries.

“We wanted to think outside the box and encourage people to support the town’s restaurants,” he said.

“We had more than 400 entrants in the first few hours the competition went live.”

Competition entrants need to comment on the Camden Jacaranda Festival’s Facebook post about the competition for their chance to win.

The comment must be about your favourite place to eat in Camden.

The grand prize is $5000 in restaurant vouchers.

“We will give the winner $100 a week to be spent at any of the 20 participating restaurants in Camden,” Mr Valciukas said.

“The only catch is that they must dine at each of the restaurants before they can go back to the same venue.

“We want to share the love around a bit and make sure every participating restaurant has a chance.”

Mr Valciukas said he hoped the competition would encourage people to visit Camden.

“It’s a fantastic prize, who wouldn’t want to win that?” he said.

“If I could eat for free with my family or friends each week I would – it’s a no brainer.”

Entries will close at 11.59pm on November 21.

The winner will be randomly drawn and announced on November 22 November via a Facebook Live video on the Camden Jacaranda Festival Facebook page.
