A driver is dead and another has been airlifted to hospital following a two-truck crash on Picton Road near Wilton early Wednesday morning.
Picton Road was closed after the crash but alternating traffic conditions were put in place after 8am. Traffic is still banked up.
The head-on collision occurred near MacArthur Drive at about 3.40am.
The driver of a table-top truck died at the scene.
The 38-year-old male driver of a car carrier was trapped in the truck for about an hour.
NSW Ambulance has since been taken to Liverpool Hospital by helicopter suffering from a head injury.
Motorists were being diverted onto other major roads but those diversion have been lifted now that traffic can travel past the incident via stop/slow conditions.
Drivers should allow extra travel and exercise caution because emergency service workers and traffic crews remain on site.
Police crash investigators are still at the scene.
More to come.
