A man will face court after he allegedly sexually assaulted an 89-year-old woman at an aged-care facility at Picton

A male aged-care worker will appear in court today after he allegedly sexually assaulted an elderly woman at a facility in Picton.

Officers attached to the Camden Police Area Command commenced an investigation after receiving information an elderly woman had been allegedly sexually assaulted by a male aged-care worker at the Thirlmere Way facility on Monday, October 8.

Following inquiries, police attended a house in Eschol Park on Saturday, 1 December 1 and arrested a 59-year-old man.

The man was taken to Narellan Police Station and was charged with aggravated sexual assault.

He was refused bail and is due to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday, December 2.
