Police arrest wanted Victorian man in Campbelltown

A man wanted by police for an alleged attempted murder was arrested in Campbelltown yesterday.

Police Transport Command officers spoke to a 32-year-old man at Campbelltown Railway Station in relation to a ticketing offence about 3pm on Thursday, February 7.

Following further inquiries, it was revealed the Malaysian national was wanted by Victoria Police for an alleged attempted murder in 2016.

The man was arrested and taken to Campbelltown Police Station, where he was charged with a warrant issued in another state.

He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Friday, February 8).

It is expected that Victoria Police detectives will seek the man’s extradition today.
