Truck crash on Hume Highway near Medway on February 12

There is further traffic chaos on the Hume Highway following a second truck crash today.

The highway has been closed to northbound traffic due to an incident near Medway about 3.15pm on Tuesday, February 12.

The condition of the driver is unknown at this stage.

Emergency services crews are on the scene, along with a heavy vehicle tow truck.

Light vehicles are being diverted through the Old Hume Highway while heavy vehicles can take a detour through the Illawarra Highway.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area or expect extra travel time on Tuesday afternoon.

It is the second major truck crash to occur on the Hume Highway today.

Two trucks collided near Sierra Street, Yerrinbool, about 5am.

All northbound lanes on the highway remain closed at Yerrinbool, nearly 11 hours after the crash occurred.
