Campbelltown Council is searching for young rock bands to take part in a concert to showcase the region's talent.

Sunset Sounds will give young bands a chance to perform in front of industry professionals and the public.

Campbelltown mayor George Brticevic said Sunset Sounds was an opportunity to support talented musicians and provide them with a platform to achieve their goals.

“It will give them a chance to hone their craft and get feedback from industry professionals, as well as valuable exposure,” he said.

“After the success of previous youth music initiatives that had a diversity of acts, we’ve created a forum for groups to showcase their particular musical genre among their peers.”

All band members must be aged between 12 and 24 years.

Applications close at 4pm this Friday, March 8.

A panel of young people and music professionals will select the four bands to perform from among all entries.

The first event will be held at Campbelltown Arts Centre on April 12 from 6pm to 9pm. Tickets cost $5 each.
