The sweet smell of petrol will fill the air in Camden next weekend.

A fleet of classic and vintage cars will roll into town for this year's Camden Car Show on Sunday, March 17.

The event is organised by the 55'56'57 Chevrolet Club of Australia and will be held at the Camden Showgrounds.

Club president John Fenato invited locals to come down and check out a range of beautiful vehicles, from a 1958 model Chevrolet through to a modern Holden VL, hot rods and motorbikes.

"We will have cars from all kinds of eras," he said.

"The event has been running for a long time and is open to all makes and models.

"If it's got an engine, bring your vehicle along on the day."

The Camden Car Show was set to be held last October but was postponed due to ongoing poor weather in Macarthur.

Mr Fenato said he hoped to see fine weather in Camden on March 17.

"That was the first time we've ever had to cancel an event," the Rossmore resident said.

"We expect 250 to 400 cars on display next weekend, depending on the weather.

"Our show attracts people from everywhere, but we also get a lot of support from the Macarthur region."

The Camden Car Show will be held on March 17 from 8am to 2pm.

Event highlights will include live entertainment, food stalls and a sausage sizzle.
