A team of Lakeside golfers have secured a prestigious pennant flag victory.
Lakeside's team won the 2019 metropolitan division three pennant flag in a thrilling finish against Manly last month at Terrey Hills Country Club.
Robbie Minns was selected to lead the Lakeside team for the final.
The match was all square after four holes. However, the pressure rose on Minns' opponent and he held a 4-0 lead at the halfway mark.
Minns held on for a four and three victory.
Matt Brinkworth was next up for Lakeside and he proved too strong for his opponent with a five and four win.
Bill Wright was up early against his opponent, before the Manly golfer fought back.
Wright's opponent pushed on to seal his contest one up.
Darren Hawkins ran into the current Manly club champion. Hawkins fought hard, but was eventually beaten three and one.
Lakeside's Corey Dowling secured a four and three victory before Ben Warby had a two and one loss.
Jay Choma was up next for Lakeside. His opponent attempted a 15-foot putt to win, but he was unsuccessful.
This meant that extra holes were needed to decide the division three winner.
Both Lakeside and Manly managed a par each on the first two holes.
Choma managed a par on the final hole, which his opponent was unable to match.
Wests Group chief executive Tony Mathew said it was a great win by the Lakeside team.
"Congratulations to our Lakeside pennant competition winners," he said.
"They have certainly done the club and themselves proud."
